Dr. Irene Mognon
Dr. Irene Mognon is a postdoctoral researcher at Goethe University Frankfurt. Her work explores the relationship between cognitive abilities (especially, theory of mind and inhibition) and language processing across different populations, including children, neurodivergent individuals, and second-language learners. Her research employs, among other methods, pupillometry and eyetracking, and applies non-linear statistical approaches such as Generalized Additive Mixed-effect Modeling (GAMM).
Within NegLaB, Irene investigates how children’s acquisition of negation interacts with their cognitive development and how negation processing draws on individuals’ pragmatic abilities.
